KATY/FULSHEAR (Covering Katy News) – Austin based Hat Creek Burger Company is building two locations in the Katy area. One location is along South Mason Road.  The other is on FM 1463 near Fry Road in Fulshear. Coincidentally, both of their soon to open locations are near Aldi grocery stores.

The growing fast-casual chain is known for its burgers.  The beef is fresh, never frozen.  They also sell breakfast tacos, and milkshakes in flavors like the Grasshopper, s’ mores and birthday cake.

The company started as a food truck in Austin in 2008 and opened its first permanent location in 2011. It currently operates fourteen family-friendly locations complete with play yards for kids.

At the South Mason location, we noticed that Hat Creek will have a drive-thru window and ice house style roll-up windows for open-air dining when the weather cooperates.

Hat Creek purchased a one-acre location in Cross Creek Commons, from NewQuest Properties. J.J. McDermott and Andrew Alvis of NewQuest Properties represented the seller. Brad Devault of Cielo Property Services represented the buyer.

Hat Creek is also building on the west side of South Mason Road near the station car wash, a short distance north of the Equestrian Center and Cinco Ranch Boulevard.
