JKB Is Now Hiring Project Estimators
New position just posted at Jerry Kachel Builder!
We are currently looking for highly motivated, self-starting and driven project estimators who want to join a nationally recognized and growing Commercial General Contractor.
Project Estimators are in charge of all aspects of the bidding process from start to project completion as well as working with Project Managers during the construction phase.
Bidding Process:
Read, understand plans, and bid documents
Review and comprehend Instructions to Bidders
Understanding of Bonding Requirements
Research and understanding of Tax Requirements
Construction estimate take offs (Concrete, Framing Packages, etc…)
Construction duration and post turn requirements
Determining the required trades needed for a project
Attend, coordinate, and provide feedback for pre-bid meetings and/or conference calls
Subcontractor solicitations and invitation to bid
Project setup
Maintain a progressive vendor base by region for future bid opportunities
Requests for Information
Qualify bids received
Schedule meetings to communicate directly to the project team
Produce a complete and accurate bid for final review with the Estimating Department Manager
Experience/Requirements:
5 years in Commercial Construction preferred.
Proficient in Excel/Word/PDF/Plan Hub
Site Digitizing preferred
Proficient in Construction Take Offs
Computer skills
Excellent communication skills verbally and written
Minimal travel
Helpful skills & willing to be trained in:
Procore
MS Projects
Smartsheets
